Recent advances in  mass spectrometry and allied technologies offer powerful analytical tools to study biodiversity at the molecular scale. The mass spectrometry facility of the museum provides technical support and expertise to identify and characterize proteins, peptides, metabolites, oligonucleotides etc. Mass spectrometry applications are developed through collaborative research projects and often involve separation of complex mixtures, identification, quantification and bioinformatics.

The mass spectrometry facility is open to research groups at Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle. In addition, collaborative research programmes with other institutes are carried out. The facility acts as an interface between mass spectrometry technology and different research groups to solve problems encountered. In this context, the facility strives to generate high quality data and is committed to professional ethics.

To benefit the services of the platform, the user must read and sign the document "Charte de la plateforme" and abide by the conditions stated herein. Samples should be accompanied with completed "analysis request form".
